Dr. William Ishee is a Lafayette native who joined our cosmetic surgery center in 2024 after being mentored by our very own Dr. J. Kevin Duplechain. Dr. Ishee has an impressive academic background in aesthetic medicine and is a highly accomplished cosmetic surgeon. He is experienced in all aspects of cosmetic surgery and specializes in customized procedures for the face, breast, and body. Education and Training

Dr. Ishee’s career in medicine began at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences in 2014. Driven by a passion for surgery, he pursued his medical degree at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center Shreveport (LSUHS), where he excelled academically and earned scholarship awards each year for his outstanding performance.

Dr. Ishee continued his training with a General Surgery residency at LSUHS from 2018 to 2023. During this time, he gained extensive experience, performing thousands of surgeries across various specialties, including General Surgery, Burns, Breast Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Trauma, Cardiothoracic, Vascular, and Plastics. His expertise extends to endoscopic and laparoscopic surgeries, and he is certified in the Da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.

In 2024, Dr. Ishee completed a successful AACS-certified Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship under the direction of Dr. Duplechain, after which Dr. Duplechain invited him to become a full-time cosmetic surgeon and work alongside him.

Throughout his training, Dr. Ishee distinguished himself as a skilled surgeon and trusted leader. He was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, being recognized for his compassionate patient care as a role model, mentor, and leader in medicine. His teaching abilities were acknowledged with a Superior Teaching Award, highlighting his approachability and enthusiasm for sharing his knowledge with others.

Dr. Ishee held several leadership positions, including serving as Administrative Chief Resident and participating in the Utilization Review Committee and the General Surgery Residency Program Evaluation Committee which shaped the future of his residency program. His leadership and dedication to quality patient care have earned him great respect among his peers and mentors alike.
