Benefits

Ear surgery has several benefits for both adults and children. One major benefit of otoplasty is that ears will appear natural and won’t detract from the rest of the face. Also, Lafayette ear surgery patients can enjoy more symmetrical and balanced ears. Because the scar is created behind the ear, patients can wear their hair up without worrying about any scars showing.

“I actually drove 1.5 hours from Lake Charles to see Dr. Duplechain. I’ve had stretched lobes for years, but wanted an earlobe repair so I could go back to regular earrings. The office was beautiful and well appointed. The staff was very friendly, and Dr. Duplechain himself was knowledgeable and kind. I was able to have the procedure done in office the same day as my consultation, and I’m very pleased with the results. I’m glad I made the drive.” Carla M.

Dr. Duplechain Explains Your Ear Surgery Procedure

To perform your ear surgery, I will begin by creating an incision behind your ear, so that the scar will remain inconspicuous. Once the incision is created, I will meticulously reshape the cartilage and skin with symmetry and proportion in mind. From there, the ear is folded back and set closer to the head, and stitches are used to hold the ears in place.

Recovery & Results

Most otoplasty patients enjoy a quick recovery with slight discomfort, although this varies between patients. After your ear surgery, dressings will be applied to protect your ears and promote proper healing. After your dressings are removed (typically around 4 to 7 days after your procedure), you will wear a bandage at night for the next few weeks to help ensure that the ears maintain their position when you sleep. Once you no longer need your head bandage, you may return to normal, everyday activities and enjoy your results.

How much does otoplasty cost in Lafayette?

The cost of ear surgery (otoplasty) in Lafayette typically starts around $4,500 for both ears. That being said, the total cost will vary based on each person’s unique anatomy and the extent of surgery needed to reach their desired results.

During your initial consultation with Dr. Duplechain, he will assess your individual situation and discuss your surgical and non-surgical options. We will then provide a customized quote that covers all fees associated with your procedure. You will be able to go over this quote with our patient care coordinator who can answer any questions you may have.
